I was looking up something about laser hair removal on your crotch (I'm going to get it there once I'm done with my feet and armpits) and I came across an article about a woman who regretted getting laser hair removal on her crotch because once her daughter got to age 12 and was getting pubes, the mom said how her daughter should embrace it and not be upset, and felt like a hypocrite for it because she got hers lasered off.

There is nothing wrong with feeling regret, but to say it makes you a hypocrite is asinine. I'm body positive and I'm getting laser hair removal, not because "I hate my body," but because I'm OCD, I don't want to shave anymore, and it's going to save me money and time in the shower.

Same with transgender people, their brains don't match their genitals or chest (for lack of better wording), so they get the surgery to help them with their dysphoria. Also, you don't even know the complete and total hell they feel everyday, just for how their chest and crotches are. The surgeries seriously help them.

And then there's people who are body shamed (about anything) for a long time and now have problems and body image issues because of it. Telling them to "just love your body" isn't going to make all the psychological damage go away. Just like saying "just love your body" to someone trans, or someone with OCD isn't going to "cure" them.

Body positivity isn't just supporting "all natural" bodies, it's supporting ALL bodies.
